Rat2 offers you the simplest 3SGTE swap for the DIYer. We know the 3SGTE like the back of our hands, so have us build you a complete engine you can count on!
When you purchase and swap through us, we source a healthy Gen4 3SGTE engine from Japan and don't stop there. We will completely reseal the engine, replacing every gasket and seal on the block except the rings, bearings, and head gasket (all of which should be good for the low mileage JDM engine). Other maintenance items including the timing idlers, water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, etc., will also be replaced. We fix any broken exhaust studs (common problem on gen4/5 engines), as well as clean the engine and replace anything else needed. On top of that, we will install the modified MR2 water neck, install the converted engine harness to your spec, powder coat your valve cover to your desired color.
Finally, before the engine is sent out to you, we will load the engine on our test stand to fire it up and test temperature, oil pressure, idle rpm, smoothness, and confirm there are no leaks/problems using your harness, ecu, and accessories. We will only ship out an engine with everything confirmed and working perfectly, so you receive a full swap you can count on!
This is available for the AW11 MR2, SW20 MR2, and ST185 Celica as well as a universal kit for running this in any setup (no chassis specific parts included). If you purchase an engine for an AW11, the difference in price is mostly custom-built motor mounts for your setup. **AW setups MUST run an S54 or E153 transmission and associated setup.
We will work with you to choose the right engine for you if needed. We cover all our work and services we perform along with backing our test bench data of engines, but we do not cover the internal parts (rings, bearings, etc) of the engine itself under warranty.
Due to recent shortages, used Gen4/5 core engines are now more expensive than previous years, so we have had to raise our price to reflect this change.
