This is our new passenger side motor mount for the 2GRFE when mounted in an SW20 MR2. The 3SGTE motor mount does not work when swapping out the 2GR, so we have made a simple way for you to get your new 2GR mounted up to your chassis, with ease! We now include three M10 studs to thread into your factory engine mount before installation, ensuring easy installation and saving any potential damage on your aluminum threads. Another advantage of this mount is the ease of installation with the engine already in the car. This design can be slipped in and out of the engine bay with minimal hassle.
This mount uses the factory bracket with Toyota part #: 12315-31091 or 12315-0P031. These are found on the majority of popular 2GR applications. This is the same mounting configuration Lotus and TRD use for the supercharger setups, so this mount will also work perfectly with those belt/mounting systems. If your donor engine does not have a bracket or you have the other style, we can supply you with a replacement bracket.
The only popular car that does not have this bracket is the Rav4. The factory Rav4 bracket will NOT work. Make sure to make the appropriate selection when adding to your cart!
Our design takes advantage of the factory SW20 mounting point and does not require any cutting or welding to fit the 2GR engine into the SW20 chassis.
This mount holder the 2GR and mated E153 or S54 transmission in the correct location that guarantees axle/CV joint angle and alignment. Ground clearance with the 2GR is lower than the factory 3S engine but is considered acceptable and rarely an issue for people.
The bushings used in this mount are custom solid polyurethane inserts for this mount. They are very stiff, but we do not notice a notable increase in engine vibration when used with the factory front and rear motor mount. Excessive engine vibration due to hard motor mounts is generally seen when the front and rear mounts (or any mounts supporting the engine in the direction the engine spins) are modified. If the front and rear motor mounts are changed to polyurethane inserts as well as this amount, the engine vibration with certainly be quite noticeable. and far above stock NVH (noise/vibration/harshness)
Our mount is made from CNC laser-cut steel and then TIG welded for final assembly. We then powder coat, assembled, and inspect everything in-house. 100% made in the USA and here to help if you have any issues or installation questions.
We guarantee this mount with a no-questions lifetime warranty. If you ever have any issues or defects in our mount, we will send you a new one and or replacement bushing/inserts as necessary.
